Forrester Going in the Wrong direction

New Jersey Republicans could have picked a worse candidate to run against Jon Corzine. I just can't imagine who it would be. It seems that Doug has fallen to a 20 point deficit in a recent poll. link Forrester Is not getting his message out, if he actually has one. He is uninspiring at best. He is only getting 70% of the republican vote. This election is going to be a disaster for the repubs.

While the majority of potential voters in the poll cited property taxes as the top problem in the state, only 1/3 of voters had heard about either candidate’s property tax "reduction" plans.

That's a scary number. It would seem people are basing their preference for Governor on an impression, not facts.

Doug has only one issue. That he will reduce taxes. That's Ok, but he needs more.

I suggest another issue. That on Homeland Security he say that he agrees with what Tony Blair is trying to do in the UK. That is to deport the worst of the worst Islamofascists. Surely Doug can find in the NYC metro area a couple of radical islamic clerics and make an example of them. Put John Corzine in the position of opposing the deportation of the Islamofascists.

On a meta-level, there's a reason why Republicans in NJ, in general, can't beat Democrats - it's because they're too afraid to look Republican. If you have a choice between a Democrat with an (R) after his name, and one with a (D), why would you go for the R?

Republican voters won't because they want someone to stand on conservative principal, especially in the wake of Christine Whitman. Democrat voters won't - why go for that when you have the genuine article on your own side?

Forrester may as well go down as what he is, instead of what he thinks voters like.
